Gracing the front of this silver coin is the Canadian Arctic fox in the comfort of its woodland home. It is depicted with its head peering behind it, perhaps to check for predators or to see how the newly fallen snow has changed the landscape.
From the soft texture of its plush coat to the snow-clad trees featured in the distance, collectors and wildlife enthusiasts are certain to be impressed by the detailed rendering of this feral creature and its wintry habitat. Such skillful engraving is enough to make the viewer feel though he or she could reach out and touch its soft fur.
