Description
One of the worlds largest refiners of gold bars is one that actually has less notoriety among some investors than its native competitors. While most are familiar with Swiss refiners such as PAMP Suisse, Credit Suisse, Valcambi, and others, Argor Heraeus remains a global force in the precious metals industry despite a lack of name-brand awareness.
Argor Heraeus is older than almost all of its Swiss compatriots, with the exception of Credit Suisse. The company that is today known as Argor Heraeus was originally founded in the Swiss Canton of Ticino, in Chiasso, in 1951 as the Argor SA refinery. Today, Argor refines between 350 and 400 tonnes of gold annually.
