Description
Cast, hand-poured silver bars such as these are more affordable than minted ingots because the production process that results in the finished product is less cumbersome and quicker to complete. Cast bars are manufactured by melting silver and then pouring it into prefabricated, heat-resistant molds. The bars are left in those molds to cool and stamped with identifying markers and a mint logo at the appropriate time during the cooling process. As a result of the cooling process, cast silver bars often have unique striations that reflect the position of the silver within the mold as it cooled.
Valcambi Suisse was founded in 1961 as Valori & Cambi. Its logo appears simple in nature, but actually has a complex origin that dates back hundreds of years and can be found in various cultures. The logo consists of a square within which four equal triangles mesh together. These triangles are representative of the 400 oz LBMA Good Delivery bars from Valcambi cut diagonally.
